Camping Expert is an extensive camping listing website that caters to outdoor enthusiasts across multiple European countries. With a user-friendly interface, the website offers a plethora of information on hundreds of camping locations, spanning the picturesque landscapes of the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, and Croatia. By providing comprehensive details and highlighting points of public interest, Camping Expert enables visitors to quickly gather essential information about each campsite and find their ideal vacation spot.
The performance of the single camping page exhibited significant delays, exceeding a duration of 10 seconds during the loading process, consequently exerting substantial strain on the server resources. The prolonged wait times imposed upon visitors contributed to an elevated bounce rate and undermined the overall user experience of the website. Furthermore, both the camping archive and single camping page necessitated a revitalized aesthetic appeal and enhanced user experience. The website exhibited numerous errors and bugs, warranting immediate attention and remediation.
We discovered that a specific camping page was using too many ACF fields to display information about a camping website. This was causing a heavy load on the server, which made the website go down for a while. Even after upgrading the hosting to a better one with more resources, the problem didn’t go away. So, we decided to redesign the single camping page in a way that reduces the number of server requests and makes the page load in less than 2 seconds.
We also gave the camping archive page a makeover to make it look and feel better. We improved its design and made it more user-friendly, so people can easily browse through the camping archive page and find what they’re looking for.
